Five years on.....
When I was sixteen, my shunt became infected
This meant hospitalisation,rejection from "friends"
My brain's now fragile when I walk or run too much
With life I'm out of touch cos I can't do things I used to
I'm glad I've had my family and best friend to help me through

Living with hydrocephalus is bad enough without nearly dying
Always trying to do too much, denying I've got a health worry
Never let your health beat you my mind constantly says, forgetting my better days have gone.
