A Place to Share

Sitting on that shoulder
I'm so uncomfortable
Sitting on that shoulder
I want to intervene
But I can't reach that far.

I feel the pain
Sitting on that shoulder
I see a man
Living in dismay.

I'm a load to carry
Sitting on that shoulder
A burden of memories
A loss of inner-self.

Maybe when I stop
Sitting on that shoulder
I will offer freedom
To a man unto himself

Who I used to be
Is sitting on that shoulder
The shoulder of the man
That I have become.

In order for that man
To be able to strive
I must get off his shoulder
And set him free.
