Billy J Curd
Though You Might Wish We Would Agree Though you might wish we would agree The way you chose should never be Though you might wish we would agree The people you wished to terrorize only came to realize Though you might wish we would agree Like men in the distant past Billy J Curd
You have shouted at the world
Your belief that Americans are children of evil
The world listened though we did not wish to
You chose a way that made us listen to you
You think death and destruction is the way
We will hear and sympathize with your plight
You did not stop to consider you might make us fight
That your way is not a way we could tolorate
Now we find it easy to disagree and then to hate
We might have agreed with your beliefs
Had you and Your actions not caused so much grief
Only your name in history will last
You will be remembered with others like yourself
Until at last your only token to the world
Will be a few words in a dusty book on a shelf
Echos Of Silence Billy J Curd
You are a part
however small
of the giant machine that is life
A note in the music of the cosmos
Do not despair that your voice
seems unheard
For like the raindrops falling
singly into the flood
without you there would be
no raging torrent of humanity
no tears of despair
no grief for the dead
no peals of laughter
no songs of hope
You are a part of all
that has ever been
however good or bad
You have been the tortuer
and tortured
You die only when the last creature
of a species facing extinction
Expels its last breath
Give your pity to those who oppress
and your compassion to those oppressed
Morning Billy J Curd
Morning came one day in late spring
and the morning glory was in bloom
just outside my window
a bright burst of color
that made an illusion of winter gloom
the sun cast a shadow of the flower
and brightened up the walls and ceiling
in my lonely winter room
colorful and bright turning this winter day
into a warm spring night
and winter's colorless chill
we shall together fight
