Untitled Jacqueline Tuglus
The star met dawn one morning
The bright lights left it confused
As the ancient star tumbled down
Plowing through the trees, and onto the ground
Thrusting out tiny wings, it barely made a sound
As the angel lifted off, from the ground
Back to the sky, from where it came
It wandered closer and closer, to the light
Up, and farther up, away from peripheral sight
Gone for eternity
One more day, and one more night
That's all I ask.
