from the outside looking in

I know a lady 
who has a child 
now they suffer 
thats putting it mild 
he was quite normal 
in the beginning 
but after his wreck 
they saw no winning 
the pain they face  
its hard to bare  
for i can't help  
because i've never been there 
all i know is 
she needs to cope 
but by the grace of god 
not with dope 
she lives in mississippi 
not far from me 
is there anyone out there 
that hears my plee? 
she doesn't understand  
why her son is this way 
all i can tell her  
is PRAY PRAY PRAY 
she told me she gave up on god 
she's turned her back 
but "Jimmy" needs her  
hope & faith is what she lacks
