Do you believe in miracles? I do now. Everybody I know says that I am a miracle. On July 19, 2003, I was working for the high school marching band at the fiddlin' festival at Rough River, Ky. My dad came and picked me up on the motorcycle when my shift was over. On the way home, about 3 miles away from home, a dump truck came down the road sideways right toward my dad and I. We had nowhere to go and we hit the dump truck. I went 25 feet up in the air they said and came down straight on my head. My dad was killed in the accident. I spent 2 months in the hospital with a traumatic brain injury and a broken jaw. The doctors told mom that if I lived I would be a vegetable, but, I'm out of the hospital and back doing almost everything that I did before. I'm back in school now and back in the marching band, which is a big challenge for me. The accident really messed up my memory but I can still play all my music. I play tuba in the high school marching band, bass guitar in a christian band, and drum set. I think it's really awesome that I can still play all that. I even died at the wreck that day but a woman who just came up on the wreck got out of her car and gave me CPR and got me breathing again. The wreck has made me see life at a different perspective. I'm really religious now and I know that god was the only reason that I lived that day cause you would think going 25 feet up in the air and coming straight down on your head would kill you. The wreck made life much harder for me now but I've done made it through the hardest part, being in the hospital, I think I can make it through life.
