On April12,1997 Yourell and his little brother Preston went outside to play while we were visiting their grandparents. boys hadn't been outside what seems like 15 minutes when Preston comes running in the house and said Yourell had been hit by a car. Panic hit me and i was off running down the street half dressed in my mind i expected to see yourell sitting in the middle of the street holding his leg or arm crying out in pain but the closer i got i saw blood and a twisted body in the center of it face down . When we got to the hospital me first because my car keys where in my coat pocket i left my other family members because the ambulance driver wouldn't let me in i ran to my car jumped in and arrived at the hospital to find out that yourell was in full cardiac arrest all the bones on the left side of his body were broken , his brain swollen to capacity and he wasn't breathing on his own soon after being rushed to a trauma childrens hospital they told us to notify all the family it didn't look good he was in a coma for 45 days. We soon found out that Yourell was hit by two cars. Anyway he is doing ok health wise but my straight A student is now straight F's. And everyday is a learning experience. I thank the LORD everyday for him he is so sweet and caring,he is not on medication my youngest son Preston is now the oldest sort of speak because he helps Yourell pick out his clothes, use the phone and he makes his plates and also makes sure that if anyone insults his brother he's there for him and me as well.
