The TBI Chatroom |
Hi my name is Alicia I am 15 and a half years old .
Last October I was going for a run it was the best day I had in a very long time.
I rang my friend later than usual and it was getting late by the time I left my house. As I went to cross the road I didn't see the car coming I looked twice but it was too hilly.I had a feeling something wasnt right as I pulled my dog across the road I heard a loud screech and thats all I can remember.I was rushed to hospital and later released that night. The next day I was vomiting and headachy,So mum rushed me to the hospital.
I was then put back in hospital where it was discovered I had a closed brain injury.
I was in hospital for a while and had to learn how to walk again. I still get very tired and headachy and very grouchy and its very hard trying to explain to your friens that your not Ok.
As well as feeling yuck I am finding it difficult to learn anything new so I have basically stuffed up my High scholl and teenage years,But if it hadn't been for my mum I know I would not be alive today.
