I was born May 16, 1967 in Berlin Germany to American parents. I was born with, BOTH, Hydrocephalus AND, a ventricular brain aneurysm. For the first eight months of life, my head was getting bigger and bigger, until, I was finally diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. During the first surgery for the Hydrocephalus, the neurosurgeons discovered an aneurysm in one of the blood vessels, in my brain. Between 1968 and, 1976, I had six brain surgeries related to the Hydrocephalus. I have not had surgery for 28yrs.. I guess I am one of the lucky ones? While I don't drive(my right eye is 20/40 but, my left eye is 20/200 and, the peripheral vision in my left eye is, extremely poor), I do ride a bike: http://www.specialized.com/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=5865 I ride daily in heavy traffic. I can ride everywhere but, the US highway system i.e. I-35 where I live. I can ride on state highways i.e. US Rt. 53 where I live. I have been in several bike accidents but, the last one was in 1997 when, I was living in Washington, D.C.. I now live in Duluth, Minnesota. The traffic here, is nowhere near to, what, it was like in DC.
