My name is Dea Martin,On 9-8-98,I was involved in a auto accident,were I struck a horse which was standing in the road.I was taken to the Natchitoches parish hospital by ambulance,and later transported to L.S.U in Shreveport by helieopter.I had a closed head injury,and facial fracture's to the right side,around my eye.On 9-9-98,the doctor's prefromed a Epidural Hematoma.On 9-13-98,Doctors perfromed facial stuture to the right side,placing pins all around the orbit of my right eye and reconstructing my check.I was in I.C.U from 9-9-98 to 9-15-98.I was then moved to a room,untill 9-22-98 when I was discharged to Rehab in Natchitoches.I was released from Rehab to come home on 10-7-98.As of this date(2-15-99) the Doctor,s will not release me to go back to driving my school bus.I still have double and blurred vision.The doctor's say I may need reconstruction surgery to the orbit of the right eye. This is written with help from my husband,becanse I do not remember the accident and up to 3 weeks following the accident.
