Doris Yeager

In my teen years, seizures began and weren't recognized until I had an auto accident. For the many years that followed I saw several different neurologists, until on day my doctor recommended I go elsewhere and consider surgery. I found a place in South Jersey which did many different tests, followed by surgery in September of 1997. I was on different drugs for almost 36 years and it was a step in the right direction having this done.

Since then I no longer have the seizures during the day at all. Sometimes they occur when asleep, but rarely. I still take a drug before going to sleep, but it surely is much better now. I also lost part of my memory, and frequently I find myself almost bluffing concerning this. Thank God my husband is understanding and it is livable.

I now have my permit for a license test which comes in about 10 days. It will be great to be able to get away on my own for a change.

I have contacted the Epilepsy Foundation headquarters and offered to help with education on Epilepsy in the schools. It is meaningful for all to know all about this condition before they actually witness it on their own.

Have a super coming week and keep smiling.

Doris :-)
