In 1995 I received a TBI in a bicycle vs pick-up truck collision. I was the bicycle and believe it or not, I lost that very short competition. I was in the hospital for 3 1/2 months and then had to move back in with my parents as I could not take care of myself. I can live on my own now and I have written a book describing the trials and tribulations of my recovery, which is on-going but the book had to end at some point. The book is entitled "TBI Hell - A Traumatic Brain Injury Really Sucks." Most books written on the subject give tips and/or advice on how to deal with the changes that will occur. The books offer advice to caregivers on a myriad of subjects. They offer hope and encouragement for the families of the injured and also to the recipient of the TBI. My book does none of those. It describes the unpleasantness of life for someone who has received a Traumatic Brain Injury. The link below describes the book and also provides links for the purchase of the book.

P.S. I still haven't figured out what an Un-traumatic Brain Injury would be. Possibly a UBI or UTBI or maybe a NSBBI (Not So Bad Brain Injury).
