September 26, 1990 I was on my way to the store to pick up a birthday cake for my mother's birthday. My 1989 Plymouth Horizon was t-boned by a white van on the passengers side pushing me out the drivers side. I got a broken rib and my face tore open, oh yeah I also got a TBI. I was flown to shock trauma where I stayed in a coma for 72 days then I went to a rehab for 33 days. I currently have a job, house, husband, adult son and manage a 3 yr old sunday school class. Everyone around thinks everything is back to normal and has been normal for years because the only physical reminders I have of the accident is a tracheotomy scar and a scar across the right side of my face. I feel, have felt, like a stranger watching someone else's life - I get depressed for no reason, angry for no reason, have to work, repeating things in my mind just to remember the simplest things. I am alive though and a productive member of society so ....
