I went through work hardening and went back to work.

In June of 1996 I was working when the position I was in restrited the flow of blood to my brain and I had a stroke like happening. Wy wife called 911 and the ambulance took me to the hospital. After four hours in the emergency room they released me.

They thought that I must have an ear infection and it made my balance system get off. They give me a prescription to take care of what they thought was the problem.

I was off work almost a month and was working at a job different than when I fell.

I went back to work for the contractor I was working for when I fell. This was the third year and he wouldn't pay me additional so I quit and went to work for another contractor.

After working there for almost two months I was really hurting. I went to another physical therapist and they detirmined that I had a rib out of place and my whole left side was going out of place from working.

They did and EMG then an MRI. They determined that I had damaged C4 and C5 in my spine when I fell and nobody knew that. They continued physical therapy and got me better.

I have not been able to work since November of 1997.

I have not found a medical person who would link the stroke like happening to the original fall. I used to be a fast typeist. Maybe 80 w.p.m. Now maybe 20 or 30 because of the mistakes I make with my right hand. I have a lot of problems that make my right side not do what it should. Driving is OK I have something to hold on to. Walking straight is tough and I can not run.

I am looking for information from anyone who has been able to collect Workman's Comp for a brain injury while at work. It is sort of one sided when working with a Workman's Comp insurer.
