Joe R. Whitehead

I received my injury during and/or after surgery. I was having laprosopic surgery for acid reflux. The surgeons performed a Nissin wrap.

When the surgery was progressing the surgeon started causing too much damage so they opened me from belly button to sternum. They damage my liver and cut a main artery. I almost bled to death (24000 cc of blood).

I also have obstructive sleep apnea. They were not supposed to lay me flat when they pulled my breathing tube. Of course they did lay me flat. My wife warned them many times.

I still do not have a straight story. The CRNA said shortly afterward I went five minutes without breathing. She later recanted. My records reflect one and a half minutes.

I was comatose for twelve days. On the twelve day I finally had a response in my right foot. I became cognizant on the sixteenth day. The neurologist and surgeons ( everyone ) said I would be a vegetable. My wife told them God is greater than man. They must not believe in God. I had people praying for me all over the USA.

When I woke, I was blind and unable to move. I could not talk because of the tracheotomy. I could only rest in the arms of Jesus. I was in a hospital bed for fifty days. My faith in God carried me through this terrible ordeal.

Today I can walk, run ( limited ), talk, and I can see. My sight has improved dramatically thought I still have many blind spots. I have other difficulties related to my injury such as memory loss, short term memory problems, stuperousness, and others.

Sincerely,
Joe
