Jonathan Shaw

Hi, my name is Jonathan Shaw. I am 16 years old now, and I was involved in a very bad automobile accident two years ago. I was with my friend one saturday evening. We were leaving the near-by bowling alley going to Kroger. He had locked the doors before we went in the bowling alley, and he was taking too long to unlock them...So I sat on the trunk of his car waiting. He thought he was going to meet me at the Kroger, so he pulled off while I was still on the trunk. I slid off, and hit the road with my head. I was immediately knocked unconscious. I was in a level 3 coma on the Glasgo Coma Scale. I was unconscious for six days. When I came to, the first thing I remember is getting in the ambulance which was going to take me to the rehab hospital. I remember my parents following right behind as I was being transferred. I was in the Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation (Charlotte, NC) for five and a half weeks. I have now been home almost two years. I left the rehab hospital on October 15, 1997.....

I would love to hear stories from others, Thanks, Jonathan
