Karol(Karl) J Chordas Jr "KJ"

Well, on May 31st, 2003 I got into a bad motorcycle accident. I really messed myself up. Shattered my left leg (which I now have a rod in), broke my left arm at the breachial plexus(the doc never fixed it, so I'm stuck with mucked up nerves in my hand), broke my left clavical, collasped my left lung, lasserated my spleen, and many many more things, and of course had a TBI. Spent 78 days in a coma, where I had absolutly no frikken idea what was going on. Becuse of the TBI, I lost all of my short-term memmory, so thats about a months worth. So I lost bout 4 months. That is the freakiest thought. But ya, got released from the hospital the day before my b-day, so October 11 I was released. Came home, and basically did nothing, cause I couldn't really do anything. I had to live downsatairs in the livingroom for 6 or 7 months, cause I could not get upstairs to my room. Then on Feb 25th, I tried to walk with no walker or anything, I was able to take about 3-4 steps, holy crap, those were the hardest steps I had taken, that I could remember. Then ever since then I just kept pushing, and I kept getting better. The only main side effects I can see, or tell, is the achyness in my joints. The memmory is a big issue, it has gotten way better thoe, but it is still way messed up. I figure i'm going to have to live like this for the rest of my life. I don't know how soon i'll be able to go back to work. I'm hoping for August or September 2005. I have to ask my doc when I see him next on the 1st of Feb. Until then, I have been been going to the gym, tring to lose the weight I put on after I got out of the hospital.
