Kirsten "Coach ubi"

Updated October 21, 2005

It has been a while since I have been on this website. I am doing well, got married last year, still teaching high school and coaching basketball. I am doing a lot of triathlon and running events. Thanks to everyone on this site who has helped over the last few years. You are all true friends and survivors.

On August 5, 1998 I was riding my bike in Florida (training for a race) and I was hit by a drunk driver. Maybe it was my fault. Nothing was anatomically abnormal, but the headaches and fear have never gone away. Finally, about 4 weeks ago, I met with a doctor who specializes in mild traumatic brain injury. I was thinking that I was going nuts. I have noticed changes in myself over the 2 years...lack of concentration, memory problems, HEADACHES, flashbacks. I got on my bike later that summer once. I have not been on it by myself on a road since then. I feel very weak minded for not getting over this sooner. I just found this site yesterday, and what a welcome it is. I am working on the cognitive stuff, I just wish there was a computer program for the other stuff. I was very lucky, and I am thankful for that.
