Linda Martinez

hi my name is linda martinez.i suffered a motor vehicle accident. i feel that this was a wake up call for me. before i had the accident i took everything in life for granted. all i thought about was going to work paying my bills and partying on the weekends. i never stopped to thank god for anything in my life. on 3-29-94 i was coming home from work and was hit head on by a gentleman that was under the infuence of alchol and heroin. i do not remeber anything leading up to the time of the accident. what i am telling you here is because i was told. i was told that because of the impact and also because i was no wearing a seat belt i was ejected through the winshield of my vehicle. i remeber walking out of hospital and was overjoyed of how beautiful it was outside. i remeber it bein a beautiful day. when i was released from the hospital i was bounced around from home to home. nobody in my family wanted to put up with me.i was able to apply for welfare and food stamps due o the fact that i have 2 girls. i then had to apply for ssi. and also for social security. at this time i also had to see doctors and everything else. it got really difficult for me. iattemted suicide twice ,i turned to drugs but not even that seemed to help. so in 96 i gave my life to christ and my life has not been the same since. i no longer take any sorts of medication for my seizure disordere. i am currenly employed by meemorial /herman fort bend hospital. i work there on weekends. i still am dealing with alot of issues in my life, but i know that with my faith god will see me through every hurdle in my life. i also want to strat something in the rosharon are that will help tbi survivors that have noone to help them. i just do not know haow to do it. but god will open doors for me. he always has. he has never failed me. i am 37 year old hispanic female.
