My Husband and I are expecting our first baby in 2 weeks. This weekend he took a severe fall on a skate board and apparently hit his head so severely that he could not remember what happended for 9 hours. Although he was not unconcious he continued to ask the same questions over and over again for 8 hours, like what happended?, how did I get here? Have you called my wife? The doctors said this was completely normal but I had never experienced anything like this. His diagnosis was a concussion with mild amenesia. The fear you have at this point is overwhelming. He was a bit agitated. My biggest fear is that he will have long lasting effects such as a bad temper, or siezures. They did an immediate CAT scan and said everything looked fine no swelling or bleeding. However should we follow up with a nuerologist? He still cannot remember those 9 hours. Does anyone have any info for us?
