I received a mild TBI on 10/14/2006 when I was rear-ended at a stoplight. The deficits I have are in verbal recall, abstract reasoning/problem solving, and fine motor skills.

I am still understanding my "new reality," and learning how to best cope with and overcome the deficits. My faith and support network at church is really helping, as is the online support group at braininjurychat.org. I'm still trying to help my parents understand and accept what has happened; right now they want to minimize everything.

I live near Detroit, MI and am considering getting involved with the local chapter of BIAMI.
