The TBI Chatroom |
I am the wife/caregiver to hubby post-tbi 6 years. What an experience this TBI thing. The poor guy was 33 and playing recreational hockey when someone struck him repeatedly in the face with the blade of a hockey stick. It crushed his face, septum, nose, and caused frontal lobe TBI. I never thought our lives would be the same. Perserverence and sheer determination has given us back some of what was lost. I have gained an eternal respect for people who lose a breadwinner, husband or spouse. I never thought such pain could exist. Slowly, I have rebuilt out lives and we are stepping out. Thanks to all of my friends here at TBIchat who were there for me during the dark days. Hugs
