All in all I've accepted what has happened to me. I'm aware of my defecits and try to work on all my problems. I'm also more receptive to others with injuries that are debilitating and I realize how precious life really is.

Hi! My name is Mike Altman, in December of 1990 I had a brain tumor removed. It was supposed to be a basically simple operation, as far as brain surgery goes, but there were several complications. I ended up in a coma for one month and I was in the hospital another five months. In June of 1991 I went to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (Biru) for 18 months. Along with Biru, I also had speech and occupational therapies. It's been a long, hard, hilly, and windy road.
