On April 11, 2000 Mike was filling a tire with air when it exploded. He sustained a traumatic brain injury. The doctors fought through the night to keep him alive, and though they succeeded he lay in coma. His stong will to survive shone through and gave us faith. After a month, he went to a rehabilitation center, and then on to a long term care facility. He has since returned home. Still in a persistant vegatitve state, he fights for his independence. Every day he improves and refuses to give up. Research is now being conducted to help Mike "wake up"... If you have a heart, say a prayer for him and his family. I know he will have a normal life again. I love him.
