Hello everyone,i invite you all to share my story of being a survivor of tbi.Whenever you here of anyone having a traumatic brain injury,or tbi,you never here of anyone surviving them until you or someone very close to you has a tbI.To put thing into perspective,no one can fully understand the emotional & physical strains that you are about to go through except you and now that i know the many thousands of people that have gone through it with you.Every situation is different, for example let me give you the story of me and my wife.It was something that no one had ever expected to happen. We had only been married for 7 months,it was a beautiful wedding, many family and friends, little did everyone know 7 months later i would surcome a very serious and potentially life threating condition. It came as a complete surprise to me and my family, all of the sudden i was chartered from 1 hospital to another. While everyone was still under the impression that it was food poisoning,i had a strange feeling that it was something a little bit more than that.My wife was so afraid,i tried to remain strong for the both of us,it was very hard, but i think i did it.After all the smoke was cleared,my family was told that i had suffered a grade 1 aneurysm.I was very lucky,at least thats what the doctors told me,i had learned later on that there is very little leeway When it came to this type of injury.I learned later on that most people who have this type of injury usually come into the hospital in a coma.I guess i have a very good guardian angel,i was fully alert when i came into the hospital. As a matter of fact after 10 hours of brain i was asking my visitors how they were, never mind me,i will be ok,if i made it this far,i will be just fine. Not knowing what lied in the future for me.After13 days in the i.c.u and 3 days in a private room i went home. The 2 best things that happened to me when i got out of the hospital was the first breath of fresh air,and 2 weeks later when i got an itemized list of what my total expenses were, all i can say is thank god for health insurance.Let me just get back to the point of my story, when i came home i was always thinking, what if i was driving on the highway and i passed out,i guess i was in the best place to be,i passed out in the bathroom.

I am mike's wife he has asked me to add what he cant remember. Mike left off at passing out in the bathroom at work. Little did we know that we were in for the worst three days of our young life together. Like mike said we were under the impression that he had food poisioning and then about 7 hours into this he was not comrehending anything. He did'nt know who i was, who my parents were, where he worked then the doctors decied to do a cat scan and we didnt realize that they wouldnt read until the next morning and then the worst days of my life began. Worrying that i was going to be a widow at 7 months of marriage and what was my life going to be like with out the love of my life. The man that made me laugh, they man that made me feel special but like he said he had a great guardian angel and he brought him back to me. We live every day with a great apprication for life and the man above. So anyone who needs something to belive in please find that one thing that helps and belive because it really does help you thru. Any one that is going thru this please feel free to e-mail us if you need to talk. We are really good listeners
