On June 30, 1997, I was working for Coca-Cola, I was a Delivery Driver. The over Head door on the back of the trailer which I'm guessing weighed 600-1000 pounds broke and fell on my head and neck. When the door hit me I remember falling forward and that was it ... the next thing I remember was getting up trying to open the door so that I could get out of the back of the trailer... I couldn't open the door so I started calling for help. Someone, a man helped open the door so that I could get out of the trailer. I was in so much pain, and also worried that I couldn't leave Coke's truck and trailer just sitting there, that I got back into the truck and Drove back to Billings. I called my wife and told her that I needed to go to the hospital, and then I told Human Resources what had happened and that I was going to the hospital. I went into the ER and told them that the over head door came down and hit me in the back of my head and neck and that the door weighed about 600-1000 pounds, The ER ordered x-rays of my neck, gave me a pain pill and said that I could go to the work care Doctors at Billings Clinic the next day. I was in so much pain that I could barely move. The Work Care Doctors at Billings Clinic, gave me a neck brace and ordered more x-rays of my neck . I told them the same thing that I told everyone else, that the door had hit me in my head and neck, they treated me weekly and put me through physical Therapy, sent me back to work after a month and told me I was at maxium medical improvement. Two days being back at work, the lift gate broke on the back of the trailer, when I called Coke for help they sent someone and we had a backhoe and pushing on this lift gate to put it back up so i could return to Billings, I was in so much pain that I counldn't move... I went back to the Doctors and stated what had happened and they stated that I needed to go back to work, in all this time I was reporting headaches and pain through out my neck and back. I called in sick for a month and was fighting with Workers Compensation on my medical condition, I told them that there was something else wrong and I wanted another opinion, they refused. I went to a doctor on my own and told this doctor what had happened to me from June 30, 1997, I told him about the headaches and my neck, back etc. he ordered an MRI and a CT scan, he also gave me two shots in my head which did not even touch my heachache at all. The MRI showed that I had Brain Damage, and he stated that I should of never been in physical therapy, and asked me if I was having any other troubles that I had noticed, I told him I was having vision problems, understanding people, on what they are trying to say to me, or not hearing them right, what I'm trying to say is not coming out right, and that I hurt everywhere. He wanted to set me up with alot of tests.

But by this time Coke had fired me from my job, after they found out that I had a Brain Injury, and my private insurance had ran out. Workers Comp stop paying me and refused medical attention of any kind, tried to tell me that I had , had a stroke. I fought with them for months and finally after going to another one of their doctors (IME) who stated that there was nothing wrong with me and setting there looking at the MRI of the Brain Injury. We went to Mediation and agreed to let me have another opinion, I told them I wanted to go to the Mayo Clinic in MN. Well the Mayo clinic helped me to understand what I was going through and that this is going to be a long road, Workers Comp finally excepted liabilty for my injury, but they are still fighting me every step of the way on everything , when it comes to medical attention and treatment, even my check comes later and later....but I will keep on fighting for my health !!!!!
