Samantha "Sammy"

My daughter Samantha was in a car accident in May of 2003, she was 14. She had a tbi and other injuries. She had been to the beach with a friend and the friend's father, they were rearended and went into oncoming traffic, tboned by a SUV. Sam was partially ejected from the rear window. She was airlifted to the Medical University of South Carolina, in a coma for 18 days and spent the summer in Atlanta GA, Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, in the hospital and rehab. She is now 18 years old, just graduated HS ontime, and will attend the local community college this fall. She has a very outgoing personality, as always, and still has some short term memory and cognitive deficites. She is taking some alzheimer's meds as a trial to see if it helps her memory. She also takes adderal which helps her mood and helps her focus during the day.

I thank God everyday that she is still here to hug me and love her mother and I. Without Jesus, life would be meaningless, and all things happen for his purpose and glory, even things we don't understand.
