Friday 14th July 2000 was the day that changed the lives of many people.
I slowly died at the roadside after a motorbike crash, but after several attempts to revive I, he started breathing again. â Stepped Offâ tells the story of My recovery with the help of my wife Carol, as I recount the events both before and after the accident to the present day.

The trip to Scotland was meant to have been a short motor biking holiday with friends. It was also the first time Carol and I had been apart since their wedding in February, only four months previous.

The morning of 14th July 2000 was like any other morning and, after two days great biking, Steve was looking forward to the ride home to Leeds. As it turned out, I didn't leave Scotland for another six weeks. I woke from his coma in mid-August. This is the true story of the highs and the lows Carol and Il experienced during my recovery and the ability of two ordinary people to cope with one extraordinary situation.
